About CULTURE LUST

Metanarratives bore me.

From them is squeezed the particulars that make the individual or discrete meaningful, interesting, useful. Culture, after the brief halcyon days of the Unbounded Internet, is becoming a metanarrative itself. But – and this is the point – not without a fight. Warrior castes are emerging, coalescing around visions of half-crazed hermitical prophesiers grown weak from fulminatory excess. Rome has fallen, the barbarian kingdoms have fallen, powerful barons are united in visions of unity and order, but tribal loyalties and long-remembered alliances stand still.

What a time.
